NYC Trip- First A Christmas Spectacular, then just roaming around

Yesterday, I watched the most amazing, most coordinated and most musical show in New York City. Why of course, it was the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, feat. The Rockettes!

It was sooooo creative, with the sparkly red, white and green costumes. The dances depicted songs and traditional stories. I savored and loved
                                                  every
                                                           Single
                                                  PART!
It was just....I was just....well I can't really say how I was feeling, I guess in a dream come true.
Bringing out the Rockettes...
Sightseeing
Reindeer-start of traditional kick
I loved this part!

The Nutcrakers- OMG that was awesome

Then after that, we went ACTUAL sightseeing in New York. We went to Mongolia Bakey- World Class and have THE BEST cupcakes IN THE WORLD! We also went to Times Square and ate street food- what, it tastes good! Then...I screamed when we were going towards the subway. Why? Because I saw the "Fashion Walk of Fame" and saw PARSONS NEW SCHOOL OF DESIGN on FASHION AVE!!!!!
Mongolia Bakery!
The Red Velvet cupcake I ate
My dream school....I saw it!

There are too many pictures for each and every one of the stones for the "Fashion Walk of Fame", but I must say, I nearly fainted from all this excitement.

All in all, I loved this trip to NYC.

My comment is on the third page with the name Anam A. on the link with the post "Will Music make you More Successful?"

Flowers for Algernon and Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" Comparison

Does it occur to anyone else that the song “Mirrors” by Justin Timberlake sound a lot like Charlie’s P.O.V from Flowers for Algernon? In the song, for instance, JT says:

“Just know that I'm always
Parallel on the other side”

That sounds a lot like post-surgery Charlie and Alice seeing the pre-surgery Charlie.

“I'm lookin' right at the other half of me…Show me how to fight for now…”

Sounds familiar, maybe Charlie looking at himself in the bathroom mirror during the convention, where he says:

“I'm not your friend. I'm your enemy. I'm not going to give up my intelligence without a struggle. I can't go back down into that cave. There's no place for me to go now, Charlie. So you've got to stay away.”

The two Charlie’s are fighting for position. Although post-surgery Charlie knows he can’t get rid of the other half of him, he stills fights with pre-surgery Charlie.
“My mirror staring back at me”

Pre-surgery Charlie is post-surgery Charlie’s “mirror” staring back at him.

I really think that it was possible that Justin Timberlake got his inspiration for “Mirrors” from Flowers for Algernon.

"It is not our abilities...that show us what we truly are, it is our choices."

A quote from Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling.
I believe that this quote is one well said. It is true. Our choice represent us as a person than our abilities. When we make good decisions, we earn a good reputation. It is our bad decisions that make us look bad and we feel bad as well. Abilities, otherwise, can be earned in a day, but the choices we make are past. We shape who we are as people by our options, not by talent. For, as Dumbledore said,

"It is our not our abilities...that show us what we truly are, it is our choices."

Forest of Serenity

Dewdrops of the sun
fall on to the forest trees.
Warmth on a human's back.

Animals graze slowly,
as if time
doesn't exist.

Smells of wildflowers.
Dirt and mud cake the ground.
The aroma of rain and leaves,
add to freshness.

The sound of the river
trickles slowly,slowly.
Birds communicate in
soft singsong.

Green, brown, blue
a hint of red and yellow
along with orange.

A mountain
Hides beneath
a blanket of mist.

The forest of serenity
untouched except
from those who care.

My Birthday Party

This is a very late because my birthday was in May but I couldn't find the time to write. So my birthday was a blast.
The theme: Peaches and Cream
Age I was turning: the big 13

We did all decor and food.
The food was all themed along with the decor.
My birthday was sooooooo much fun. Most of my friends came and we had fun. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was one of the best parties next to my Alice and Wonderland party.
Here are some pics:

BOREDOM CHALLENGE

I was just wondering, what do my readers do when they are bored? I listen to music, fashion design, write and well post stuff on my blog.  I also play on my iPod and paint my nails as well as read and craft stuff. Here's a picture of something I made while in boredom.
Yes, it's a bow out of a candy wrapper. Hey, that makes me think we should start a challenge. Take a picture of something YOU do when you're bored, and then post it on your blog. Then copy and paste the link of your blog in the comments section. I'll give a shout out to the people who post the MOST interesting things. GOOD LUCK TO THE PARTICIPANTS!!!

Being inspirational...

"Every cloud has a silver lining."

I believe that the quote "Every cloud has a silver lining" means that problems may not seem to be problems if you look at the bright side of it. Instead of thinking negatively, you should think positively. It also means to make the good out of the bad.I interpret it as a jump start to life and as a big moral that everyone should know.
The quote had applied to me when I had gotten furious with my good friend for taking a piece of my lunch without asking. She wouldn't talk to me for days and didn't sit next to me at lunch. I felt really lonely and wanted to talk to her so bad, which was the dark side. But on the bright side, she had a small temper and had gotten over her anger, and also learned her lesson on which to never take my bits of my lunch without asking.
The quotation would also apply to many people in real life. For instance, the quote had applied to my best friend. It happened when she had gotten her teeth extracted because of cavities. The negative part of the extraction was that she couldn't eat anything hot, hard or large and her mouth pained for days. The positive side though was the fact that she now knows that she needs to take care of her teeth otherwise it could hurt her mouth and body in many harmful ways and can affect her life.
In summation, the quote "Every cloud has a silver lining" is very inspirational. It could intertwine within anyone's life and is very meaningful to some, while others can relate to the quotation in a very faint way. I interpret it as a way to stay positive and to stop looking on the negative side to life, because there is a lot more than evil in this world. There is also goodness and purity, and we should always think that way, no matter how disastrous the problem is.

Icicle

A huge icicle
Hangs from the
Entrance of
My house
Water dripping
From the bottom
Beautiful
But solo.

Accident

It was my bad
I made that
Dinosaur milk
Puddle
But it was
An accident
Yet it looked
So beautiful
It was an accident
And I'm not sorry
For leaving
The dinosaur
Puddle

Hunger Games- Pros and Cons

I think you should read The Hunger Games for many reasons. One reason you should read this book is because of the strong features the book has. It describes important events and helps you envision what is happening by its stunning description. Another reason you should read it is because of its point of view, which is first person. In the book, it is Katniss who’s speaking but, instead of Katniss, it feels like you are in the book, seeing everything happen before your eyes. All the words just enclose around you, from Katniss’s home to the arena. Plus, doing a first person instinct is very hard to do. My last reason you should read this book is because of the feelings that she express’s. Whatever she feels, you feel as well. When I was reading the part where her ally dies, I felt just as poignant as she did. What she did later was very dramatic. In fact, I would have done the same. The prevailing resentment she had for the Capitol and the Hunger Games made me feel the same. That is why I believe you should read this book.

I believe you shouldn’t read this book for many reasons. One reason you shouldn’t read this book is because it is miserable. I mean, there are so many children dying that even I wasn’t able to read those parts. I felt as if I were going to cry. Another reason why you shouldn’t read it is because some parts a quite inappropriate. (I don’t want to mention it in this essay.)Finally, the reason is because it gives you bad dreams if you can’t handle it. (Trust me; I had one by the first death.)I am just trying to say, you wouldn’t want to see the brutal deaths in your dream, would you? Especially when it comes to the children dying and getting picked up by helicopters. That is why you should not read this book.

MILK AND COOKIES

I'm sorry for
eating the cookies
and drinking the
entire carton of
milk.

I was so hungry
and I had no idea you
were saving it for
a snack!

You should have
seen your face when
you found out that
I ate your
delicious snack.

Believe me, it
was a hilarious sight!
Hopefully, you can buy
some more cookies and milk
for yourself
but I will
probably eat it
all over again!

Thrift Shop trip

So the other day, I was reading a blog and the blogger had a thrift shop challenge based on a song...

It was a cool experience. I never knew Thrift Shops were so interesting... until I went to Goodwill. Here's some things I liked:
An easter egg tree
A tea set

a chicken bowl

Bird houses in a board

A felt painting

Cup sets

An Eiffel Tower picture

a cute quote

I never knew that thrift shops can be so interesting and I learned that although shops can look run down, unattractive, and old, you should never "judge a book by its cover"

Storm King Sculptures

A windy day
An attractive sight
Welcome to Storm King Sculpture Garden
With sculptures
Those are an apple to your eye
See the mesmerized faces
See the abstract art
See the effects
That gets people talking
Plummet down hill
The soft grass rubbing against your face
Welcome to Storm King Sculpture Garden
A place where you want to be
A 2-hour drive
To Upper state New York
Is worth a sight
The Mountains roll
In waves like the ocean
‘Welcome to Storm King Sculpture Garden’
The sign says
